The makers of iA Writer, a minimalist writing app for distraction-free writing, have set out with the Notebook for Writers to create a notebook that is absolutely purist and exclusively serves the purpose of highlighting the beauty of the written word. The notebook, handcrafted in Japan, is lined with watermarks, guiding the writing hand, only to gently recede afterwards: an effect created by optical contrast. The soft lines emerge when the page is blank and disappear under darker text.
