Minä Perhonen (Finnish: 'I, Butterfly') is a textile and fashion label founded by Akira Minagawa in 1995, based in Tokyo. Minagawa is known for his imaginative and colorful, hand-drawn prints. He founded his brand with the aim of creating clothing and textiles that retain their appeal over time.

For this series, Minä Perhonen's hand-drawn designs are carefully screen-printed onto SIWA's Japanese "Naoron" paper. The fresh, playful patterns, combined with the texture of the washi paper, create a beautiful effect and bring joy to everyday life.

SIWA is a collaboration between the traditional washi paper manufacturer ONAO and the renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. SIWA means “folding” and is read backwards as washi (literally: “Japanese paper”), both characteristics of SIWA products.
These durable and stylish pieces are made from Naoron, a special type of paper developed by ONAO, consisting of a blend of wood pulp and synthetic fibers. It has the characteristic texture of paper but does not tear as easily and is extremely water-resistant.
