Hashioki, or chopstick rests, are a must-have for any Japanese-style table setting. The four-piece "Four Moon" set impresses with its simple design. Its unpolished surface creates a beautiful blend of industrial charm and understated elegance. The rests are easy to combine and enhance any table setting.
Like all Futagami brass products, these pieces will develop a beautiful patina over time through oxidation and will darken. The objects are produced using the sand-casting process, which leaves the surface rough and means that each piece will vary slightly.
Hiroshima-born designer and architect Masanori Oji designs timeless objects for everyday life using traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
The Futagami brass foundry was founded in 1897 in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. In Japan, brass was primarily used for metal fittings in furniture making, architecture, shipbuilding, handicrafts, and Buddhist altar furnishings.
