Hashioki, or chopstick rests, are a must-have for any Japanese table setting. The Twinkle set of four captivates with its simple design. With its unpolished surface, Twinkle creates a beautiful blend of industrial charm and understated elegance. The rests are easy to combine and enhance any table.
Like all Futagami brass products, these pieces will develop a beautiful patina and darken over time due to oxidation. The objects are made using the sand casting method, which keeps the surface rough and ensures that each piece differs slightly from the others.
Masanori Oji, a designer and architect born in Hiroshima, creates timeless everyday objects using traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
The brass foundry Futagami was founded in 1897 in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. In Japan, brass was primarily used for metal fittings in furniture making, architecture, shipbuilding, as well as in handicrafts or for Buddhist altar furnishings.
