Musubu Vase | Ceramic Japan

Musubu ('to tie together') is a positive word and is often used in the context of 'forging relationships', 'making friends', or 'bearing fruit'. The elegant, sculpturally shaped vase looks like an objet d'art even without a flower. A beautiful gift for a special person.

After studying at Musashino Art University, the multi-faceted product designer Makoto Komatsu worked as an assistant to the Swedish ceramist Stig Lindberg at Gustavsberg. His designs are extremely versatile and range from ceramic, glass, and stainless steel tableware to lighting and furniture. Some of his works have been included in the collections of MoMA in New York and the V&A Museum in London.

Ceramic Japan Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973 in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, with the goal of creating sophisticated designs using traditional craftsmanship. The company collaborates with designers from various fields to achieve innovative and artistic results that embody a perfect fusion of design and artistry.
Seto remains an important production site for porcelain, ceramics, and earthenware to this day. So important, in fact, that the general term for ceramics in Japanese is simply "setomono."
