The Incomplete series incorporates the typical cobalt blue ( gosu ) basic patterns of traditional Arita plates and complements them with modern designs in gold foil.
The small plates called mamezara (literally: “bean” or “pea plate”) are an important part of Japanese table culture and are used in a variety of ways: as plates for soy sauce, dips, spices and herbs; for small side dishes such as pickled vegetables; for small snacks and sweets, or even for butter and jam, and much more. Often elaborately decorated in a wide variety of colors and shapes, mamezara have also become popular collector's items.

True to their motto "Art in Everyday Life," Amabro designs stylish everyday objects for modern living, using traditional Japanese elements as a foundation, which they reinterpret or combine with modern details. Their mamezara collection features modern, graphic designs overlaid on traditional, classic patterns. It's a cool mix that brings Arita's 400-year-old porcelain tradition to the contemporary dining table.
