The Incomplete series takes the typical cobalt blue (gosu) base patterns of traditional Arita plates and complements them with modern designs in gold foil.
The small plates, called mamezara (literally: "bean" or "pea plates"), are an important part of Japanese table culture and are used in a variety of ways: as plates for soy sauce, dips, spices, and herbs; for small side dishes such as pickled vegetables; for small snacks and sweets, or even for butter and jam, and much more. Often designed with elaborate decor in various colours and diverse shapes, mamezara have also become a popular collector's item.
