Plates from the 'Kasanejima' series (overlapping stripes)

The 'Kasanejima' (overlapping stripes) plate series brings a relaxed, fresh rhythm to the plates with its diagonal, slightly irregular stripes, creating a cheerful mood.
The series includes a mini plate for dipping sauces, a small plate for breakfast or aperitif snacks, a medium plate for appetizers or side dishes, a large plate for main courses, and a rectangular plate for grilled fish, sushi, or sashimi.

Since its launch, the series has not lost its popularity. On the contrary, the Good Design Award from 2016 speaks for Masahiro Mori's timeless, enduring style.

Hakusan Porcelain, based in the pottery town of Hasami on Kyushu Island, was founded in 1779 and has been operating in its current form since 1951. In 1956, product designer Masahiro Mori was hired by the company to bring a fresh impetus to the product range. With his flair for design, form, functionality, and reasonable pricing, he had a lasting impact on the company.
