Kabazaiku Tea Caddy | Fujiki Denshiro

Kabazaiku is a traditional craft from Kakunodate, where the bark of wild mountain cherry trees is handcrafted into high-quality everyday objects.
The tea caddies are all made from cherry bark. The modern Obizutsu are additionally framed by cherry or walnut veneer – and reveal a cherry bark "obi" (band).
The cherry bark regulates the internal climate of the tea caddy, protecting the tea from moisture and preserving its aroma long-term.

Handmade in Akita Prefecture by the Kabazaiku workshop Fujiki Denshiro, now in its sixth generation.
