Ceramic Japan Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973 in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, with the goal of producing sophisticated designs through traditional craftsmanship. Seto remains an important production site for porcelain, ceramics, and stoneware to this day. So important, in fact, that the general term for ceramics in Japanese is simply "setomono."
