HA KO, meaning "leaf incense" in German, is a scented series made from Washi paper in elegant leaf shapes, infused with natural essential oils. As potpourri, the leaves diffuse their delicate scent for up to three months. When lit as incense sticks, they burn for about five to seven minutes, releasing their fragrance and deodorizing the room. When burning, it is recommended to use the accompanying felt mat.
Kunjudo was founded in 1893 on Awaji. Awaji Island is considered the birthplace of Japanese incense, whose history began when a fragrant piece of wood washed ashore on the island. The island remains the epicenter of Japanese incense production to this day.
