The holly leaf is filled with the scent of a coniferous forest, a calming, woody fragrance for cozy winter days.
HA KO, meaning "leaf incense" in German, is a fragrance series made from Washi paper in an elegant leaf shape, infused with natural essential oils. As potpourri, the leaves spread their delicate scent for up to three months; when lit as incense sticks, they burn for about five to seven minutes, emitting their fragrance and deodorizing the room. When burning, it is recommended to use the associated felt mat.
Kunjudo was founded in 1893 on Awaji. Awaji Island is considered the birthplace of Japanese incense, whose history began when a fragrant piece of wood drifted ashore on the island. The island remains the epicenter of Japanese incense production today.
