HA KO, meaning "leaf incense" in English, is a fragrance series made from Washi paper in elegant leaf shapes, infused with natural essential oils. As potpourri, the leaves release their delicate scent for up to three months. When lit as incense sticks, they burn for approximately five to seven minutes, spreading their fragrance and deodorizing the room. When burning, it is recommended to use the accompanying felt mat.
Kunjudo was founded in Awaji in 1893. Awaji Island is considered the birthplace of Japanese incense, with its history beginning when a fragrant piece of wood drifted ashore. The island remains the epicenter of Japanese incense production today.
