Large 'Kurawanka' bowl, ideal for ramen, udon, rice, or even pasta dishes and salads.

The name 'kurawanka' dates back to the Edo period, when traders offered their meals on the Yodo River from tea boats, asking 'kurawanka?' ("Would you like to eat?"). The vessels needed to be sufficiently sturdy, so the dishes were served in large, thick-walled bowls with a high base. These are still called 'kurawanka' bowls today.

Hasami porcelain has been produced for 400 years in the town of Hasami, Nagasaki Prefecture, which is known for its pottery.
