This flat, square confectionery tray is particularly suitable for wagashi, Japanese sweets, as these are not too oily or creamy. Western sweets also look lovely on it. The simple trays, with their intense grain and calming appearance, exude warmth, and the recessed base gives them a light, floating effect. The wooden tray is not only beautiful to look at but also pleasant to the touch, and the varying grain makes each piece unique. The surface is sealed with liquid glass; however, it is not recommended to place overly oily or watery sweets directly on it. To clean the surface, simply wipe it with a wrung-out cloth.
Aizawa Mokuzaikogei was founded in 1947 in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, as a woodturning workshop for lacquerware. The Kito series, which translates to "With Trees," expresses gratitude towards the forests and is named after the idea of spending everyday life surrounded by trees.
