Wall object Act/6 raindrop | Ceramic Japan

The Act/ collection consists of twelve handmade porcelain objects that, when hung on the wall, resemble small works of art. Each piece highlights a specific manufacturing method. Act/6 raindrop is - as its name suggests - inspired by raindrops. The drops in the form of raised grains are individually handcrafted using a technique called "itchin" or "slip trailing", and applied piece by piece by hand to the body. Due to this handcrafted process, there are slight variations from piece to piece, making each object unique. The three holes of different sizes can also be filled with (dried) flowers or branches. All Act/ objects have a recess on the back so they can be hung on a nail.

Ceramic Japan Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973 in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, with the goal of producing highly sophisticated designs using traditional craftsmanship. From the beginning, Ceramic Japan planned and developed products in collaboration with designers from various fields (not just ceramics), achieving innovative and artistic results that embody a perfect fusion of design and skill.
Seto remains an important production site for porcelain, ceramics, and earthenware to this day. So important that the general term for ceramics in Japanese is simply called "setomono".
