The Act/ collection consists of twelve handcrafted porcelain objects that, when hung on the wall, resemble small works of art. Each piece highlights a specific manufacturing technique. The characteristic feature of Act/1 hollow is the central opening on the front, the edge of which is slightly distorted by hand. This allows the object to also be used as a wall vase.
All acts/objects have a recess on the back so they can be hung on a nail.
Ceramic Japan Co., Ltd. was founded in 1973 in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, with the goal of producing sophisticated designs using traditional craftsmanship. From the beginning, Ceramic Japan planned and developed products in collaboration with designers from diverse fields (not just ceramics), achieving innovative and artistic results that embody a perfect fusion of design and skill.
Seto remains an important production center for porcelain, ceramics, and stoneware. So important, in fact, that the general term for ceramics in Japanese is simply "setomono".
