Artist, art school teacher, costume designer, and color consultant Sanzo Wada (1883–1967) lived and worked during the Japanese avant-garde era and the rise of Japanese cinema. For his work as a costume designer and color consultant, Wada won an Oscar in 1955 for Jigokumon in the category "Best Costume Design for a Color Film." Ahead of his time, he laid the first important foundations for contemporary color research with traditional and Western-influenced color combinations. This beautifully designed, timeless book is based on his six-volume original work from the 1930s and contains 348 attractive and sensual color combinations.
Following the great success of the first volume, the long-awaited sequel A Dictionary of Color Combinations Volume 2 is now also available.
