For manga lovers!
Hokusai Manga is one of the masterpieces of Katsushika Hokusai (1760–1849), one of Japan's most famous artists. Originally published in 1814 as a sketchbook, it served as a reference work for aspiring artists, but soon surpassed this purpose and became a bestseller. Over the next few decades, 14 more volumes followed, containing over 4,000 illustrations across 970 pages.
This modern, newly arranged, but complete reprint in compact paperback format presents in concentrated form all the themes, motifs and drawing techniques that can be found in Hokusai's art.
Volume 1, The Life and Manners of the Day , includes everyday scenes from the Edo period, depictions of people and customs, but also architectural elements, household objects and sumo wrestlers.
